Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe was raised by an ethnically diverse family. The father of her is Nigerian as well as Swiss and the mother of her is English. She was born on the South London Council Estate, and then was a student at The Brit School aged 14. She was a student at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London which she graduated with an BA in acting. She appeared in many stage productions during her time at school, including the King Henry V and Wuthering Heights.
Madekwe started her acting career by starring in a movie titled Storm Damage. Since then, she has appeared on Teachers, Doctors Casualty and Drop Dead Gorgeous. Madekwe's first film appearance was Woody Allen's Cassandra's Dream (2007), alongside Colin Farrell. Following that she portrayed Elisha (a BBC Three drama-pilot) in West 10 LDN. Additionally she appeared in Trexx as Ollie as well as six episodes of Flipside. In 2008, she was offered the Bambi part on the ITV2 Drama The Secret Diary of a Call Girl. Ashley Leggat was born in Hamilton, Ontario, into an extended family of. Her parents Roy and Patty, as well as her four brothers, Brett, Todd, and Bram who were also present. Ashley's four brothers, all very athletic, played hockey during the winters and baseball in the summers, meaning that she grew up playing in parks and arenas. Ashley did not walk; instead, she would dance. At age two and half, she found Baby Ballet. Ashley fell in love with dance at this age. Ashley was a dancer who competed throughout the various divisions until she finished high school. She was a competitor in jazz, tap, ballet as well as pointe and acrobatics. She won the top soloist awards at all of the most prestigious dance competitions like, International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers 5-6-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, and Dance, Dance, Dance to name a few.
